Beagle Direct Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 June 2026

These terms set out how you use Beagle Direct, whether you are a homeowner looking for a tradesman or a tradesman listing on the platform. Please read them, as they explain what Beagle Direct does, what it does not do, and what you can expect.

This page is provided for information and we will keep it current, dating each change at the top. It is not legal advice, and it does not take away any rights the law gives you as a consumer.

1 Who we are

Beagle Direct is provided by Beagle Direct Ltd, a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales, company number 17290514, registered office 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Beagle Direct Ltd. By using Beagle Direct you accept these terms.

2 What Beagle Direct is and is not

Beagle Direct is an introduction and booking platform. We help a homeowner find a suitable, available tradesman and book the job. That is what we do.

The contract for the work is between the homeowner and the tradesman. Beagle Direct Ltd is not a party to it. We do not do the building work, we do not employ the tradesmen, and we are not their agent for the job. We introduce the two of you and help the booking happen; the work itself, and the contract for it, are between you and the tradesman.

3 Using it as a homeowner

Beagle Direct is free for homeowners to use. You send an enquiry, and we show you a choice of suitable, available tradesmen with examples of their genuine work.

An enquiry is not a guarantee of a booking, a price, or that any particular tradesman is available. Before you book, satisfy yourself about the tradesman: their work, their cover, and whether they suit the job. The decision to book, and who to book, is yours.

4 Using it as a tradesman

If you list as a tradesman, you may create a listing and show examples of your work. By listing, you confirm that:

  • you hold the licences, insurance and qualifications you claim, and will keep them current;
  • you are responsible for the work you carry out and for the contract you make with the homeowner; and
  • you will meet your duties to consumers under the law, including doing the work with reasonable care and skill.

We may ask you to verify what you list. If you cannot, or if what you claim turns out to be untrue, we may remove your listing.

5 Reviews, work examples and authenticity

The examples of work and any ratings shown on Beagle Direct must be genuine. They must show real work by the tradesman they are attached to.

Fake or commissioned reviews are banned. Writing, buying, or commissioning a false review, or presenting someone else's work as your own, is prohibited under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which came into force on 6 April 2025. Misleading examples of work, or false or paid-for reviews, lead to removal of the content and may lead to removal from the platform.

6 Bookings and cancellations

When a homeowner books a tradesman through Beagle Direct, the booking sets up the contact and the appointment. The terms of the job, including any cancellation terms, are agreed between the homeowner and the tradesman. We ask both sides to be clear and fair about cancellations, and to tell each other in good time if a job needs to move or be called off.

7 Pricing and what you pay

Homeowners pay nothing to Beagle Direct Ltd for using the platform. Any price for the job itself is the tradesman's, agreed between you and them.

Where a tradesman quotes a price, it should be shown in full, up front, so you can see the total before you commit. We do not allow drip pricing, where extra unavoidable charges are added on later that were not shown at the start.

8 Our responsibilities and limits

We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires of a service.

We do not guarantee a tradesman's work, their availability, or the outcome of a job. The work is theirs and the contract for it is between you and them.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If anything here conflicts with those rights, your rights come first.

9 Tradesman terms

Tradesmen use Beagle Direct on a commercial basis, and firmer obligations apply. As a tradesman you agree to keep your listing accurate, to hold the cover and qualifications you claim, to deal fairly and lawfully with homeowners, to carry out work you take on with reasonable care and skill, and to respond promptly to enquiries and to problems raised about your work. We may set further commercial terms for tradesmen, and we will make those clear to you.

10 Acceptable use

You agree to use Beagle Direct honestly and lawfully, and not to:

  • post false, misleading or fraudulent information, including fake reviews or work examples;
  • impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are;
  • use the platform to harass, abuse or defraud anyone;
  • interfere with how the platform runs or try to get round its security; or
  • use the platform for anything unlawful.

11 Liability

We are responsible for losses we cause you by failing to use reasonable care and skill in running the platform, and for anything we cannot exclude by law. We are not responsible for the work a tradesman does, for a dispute between a homeowner and a tradesman, or for losses that were not a foreseeable result of a failing on our part.

Nothing in this section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12 Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove a listing, or remove someone from the platform, if they break these terms, post false reviews or work examples, mislead homeowners, or put others at risk. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell them why.

13 Complaints and disputes

A dispute about the work itself is between the homeowner and the tradesman, because the contract for the job is between them. We encourage you to raise any problem with the tradesman first and give them a chance to put it right.

If you are a homeowner and something has gone wrong, you can also tell us, using the contact details below. While we are not a party to the job, we want to know about problems on the platform, and where a tradesman has broken these terms or the law we can act on their listing.

14 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version, and where a change matters we will make it clear.

15 Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and these terms do not take that right away.

16 Contact

For questions about these terms or the platform, contact Beagle Direct Ltd at privacy@beagle.direct or write to us at the registered office above.

A note on these terms. This page is provided for information and we will keep it current. A solicitor should review these terms before they are relied on in a live agreement.
